We are pleased to announce that the World Asia Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University and International Exchange College of Tianjin Foreign Studies University , will jointly hold the 5thAnnual Congress of the World Scholarly Association for the History of Chinese Language Teaching
Conference theme is :
The History of International Dissemination of Chinese Language
As a brave new field of study, the World Scholarly Association for the History of Chinese Language Teaching provides a historical foundation for Chinese Language teaching as a second language . With the establishment of the World Scholarly Association for the History of Chinese Language Teaching and its subsequent four annual conferences, this field has been gradually taken into the vision of academics and has contributed greatly to the development of the history of Chinese linguistics and the research of Chinese International Education.
In this context, The 5thAnnual Congress of the World Scholarly Association for the History of Chinese Language Teaching is scheduled for September 20 to September 22, 2013, in Tianjing. Co-hosted by the World Asia Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University, this meeting is jointly hosted by Research Center of Overseas Sinology ofBeijingForeign Studies University, International Exchange College of Tianjin Foreign Studies University, and the World Scholarly Association for the History of Chinese Language Teaching.
Hereby notify the related matters as follows:
CONFERENCE THEME: The History of International Dissemination of
Chinese Language
Topic areas are broadly defined in, but are not limited to , the following:
1. Studies on the History of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
2. Western Chinese Language Studies and Modern Chinese Changes.
3. Studies on Chinese International Education
Experts and scholars at home and abroad are welcome to submit their unpublished original papers in Chinese or English.
IMPORTANTANT DATES
Arrival registration: 20 September,
Official meeting: 21-22 September
Routine and information about the culture tour after the meeting will be separately published.

ARRANGEMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Participants are required to return application forms together withintended paper titlesto the mailbox:yantaohui@tjfsu.edu.cn
2. Each participant is required to submit a paper abstract in a Word document before 15 May, 2013. The abstract shall consist of a title, keywords, summery of the paper and conclusion, with content less than one page.
3. Participants are required to submit soft copy of the complete paper in either Chinese or English.
4. Participants will be notified of the results of the anonymous referee review over the submitted papers by the Conference Secretariat.
5. Meeting expenses: Participants have to cover the costs of transportation and accommodation. The expenses for reference materials and meals will be collectively charged and a culture tour will be arranged during the meeting by the organizer. The organizing committee will publish such information as payment and accommodation online in June, 2013.
6. Paper publication: The organizing committee will publish the papers that suit the meeting theme in due course.
7. Foreign scholars are required to submit the official letters to the organizing committee to apply for visas according to relevant regulations about entry formalities.
