The international Institute of Chinese Studies (IICS) focuses on studies of Chinese cultures in the world. Under the initiative of culture inheritance and innovation ,IICS explores the history and development of Chinese studies in the background of the history of cultural exchanges between China and the world. IICS researches the literature, people, and organizations relevant to the introduction of Chinese cultures abroad, reviews the impact and the forming mechanisms of images of China in the world from a cross-cultural perspective, and reveals the value of Chinese cultures in the process of mutual learning among world civilizations.

国际中囯文化研究院以世界范围内的中国文化研究为其研究对象，立足中国文化的传承与创新，在中外文化交流史的背景下，探究中国文化在世界各民族传播的轨迹与历史；梳理中国文化海外传播的文献、人物、机构及译本，从跨文化角度研究中国文化在世界各国的影响及中囯形象形成的机制，在文明互鉴中揭示中国文化的世界意义。
